Famous Croats or with croatian roots...
Since it a little bit slow.....I will start a non-soccer tread!
It´s interesting to find out some info about Croatian famous people. For some time I have searched the internet of croatian inventions, and I found several important and big inventions, and that makes me extra proud. Whenever I talk to friends, they ask me like....ehh..croatia where is that? and who´s your most famous persons?....I use to answer....well, the tie is an croatian invention, and Marco Polo was born in Croatia. But it would be nice to pull out some more famous persons outside croatia, and people with connections to croatia.....do you have any idea?.......any info/trivia would be appreciated ![]() I know that: The Hulk actor Eric Bana has croatian father. Goran Visjnic is from Sibenik ( ER, movie Spartacus, and a rising star) Joe Sakic parents are croats John Malkovich parents also. Maradonas grandmother is croatian. Zlatans mother is croatian Former Swedish NT player Jesper Blomqvist has a summer-house in Croatia. The famous Indian on the cap in north america(I think in hockey?) was designed by Mestrovic. White house (and some other famous building in DC, capitolium?), parliment building in Vienna, and government building in Berlin are made by stone from Brac. Hvar has the most sun-hours in europe. Come on people........there got to be more.......

Great thread Mr. EU, I mean Ante.
Here's a few: Mike Grgic of California. His wine is considered some of the best in the entire world. "Grgic" wines and on every bottle he has a Croatian Grb on it. He also started a vinyard in Croatia and his wine from there goes by the name of "Dingac" I believe. There is a guy here in the States his last name is Letica. His company makes the 5 gallon cans that hold joint compound and other materials. The company is called "Letica." The guy that makes the Mag Lite flashlight which are used all over the world is Croatian as well. I think is last name is either Maglic or Maglica. 2 hockey Hall of Famers Frank and Pete Mahovlic. Just wondering, were we the inventors of laziness as well??? ![]()
