Brazil vs Argentina
Anyone else catch this? What a delight the first half has been. Brand new Brazil team, and for most of the first half Argentina has looked intimidated. A very beautiful game to watch.
I love how Brazil's passes are low, arcing and fast. They don't volley the ball like we do, giving everyone in the stadium lots of time to identify the recipient. If they re-broadcast this game, I urge everyone to catch it.

Bad week for Argentina Hummy.... First, no medal in the FBA Worlds against the USA that razzled and dazzled in the 4th quarter against Ginobili and Co. (Supposedly a better team). Then a clinic at Emirates stadium put on by their international football rival. ![]() Don't cry for me Argentina and may everyone have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend! ![]()

I still can't believe both Tevez and Mascherano slipped thru the fingers of Manchester United and Liverpool to sign with West Ham. Manchester United should of atleast signed Mascherano. Arsenal had no room for them really, nor does Chelsea at the moment. West Ham, it is rumoured, are owned, or atleast partly owned by SMI, a company backed by Oil tycoons from Russia, [Abramovich incl.], who bought out a huge stake in Brazilian club Corinthians.
I think Tevez and Mascherano are total class, who'll only show their tru worth when their bought/integrated with the Chesea - eventually.

from football365.com
Chelski, ManYoo and Arsenal are understood to have rejected offers to acquire the services of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano because of doubts over the unusual nature of the deal. Casting the 'coup of the summer' in an altogether more murky light, it has emerged over the weekend that Tevez and Mascherano were sent to West Ham after it become apparent that the Hammers were the only side willing to accept the unique terms and conditions that accompanied their transfer. Once MSI, the investment company that owns the players' contracts, had decided to advertise the Argentine duo in the Premiership shop window for a season, a raft of clubs were approached over the summer. Yet the Premiership's heavyweights, as well as a few lesser lights such as Portsmouth, were unwilling to do business with MSI after being told that they would effectively have no control over players who would then be sold at a moment entirely of MSI's choosing. All the profits would then be recouped by MSI. Only West Ham were willing to comply, judging the arrival of the two World Cup stars on what are effectively free transfers as sufficient compensation for the club's first-team being used as a shop window. |
