Talking 6'8" defender in the Chupaliga?

Hi... does anyone know of a 6 foot 8 inches (larger than 2 metres) central defender in the Supaliga or Liga de Honra? I follow the Selecção but don't know the league so well besides the clássicos.

My local team (Bristol City, third tier in England, but wages to match Superliga) just had a 6'8" defender, tall skinny white guy, on trial, his name is being kept secret, but he was Portuguese and had to go back to play for his club Sunday.

I'm catching a lot of heat from everyone in my phonebook for not being able to answer this - they're like "how many 6'8" players are there in Portugal?". So if anyone can help me out, man I'll be grateful.

Rob

Dude - you were a few days late of filling your post quota for 2005! Always good to see you stop by. However, I'm at a loss about this supposed 6'8" chop - I don't think he'd be that hard to spot on the pitch, yet all I have seen are Luisao type tall, 6'4" or so. However - I just learned that my mother has a cousin playing for Braga. He's about 5'7" - he could have been in London that week. Maybe the "6" in 6'8 was a misprint? I'll check with mymother this weekend.

Haha, yes, my posts are very few and far between, but I try and keep a keen watching brief. I think the last time I was going to post was during Euro 2004 but I was having too much fun. So this probably could up my 2005 post count.

Anyway, this 6'8" guy isn't Hugo Rodrigues, I know that for definate, because I asked about him too as our manager signed Rodrigues at his old club, but the scouts involved said it definately wasn't him but couldn't say who it was.

I think Rodrigues is only 6'5" or 6'6", this guy is definately 6'8" and would be the tallest player in British football if we sign him, however the deal is on hold as he is under contract in Portugal and went back to play a liga game today.

I've searched the lpfp.pt website, google, record and can find nothing that helps. We've had two players on trial in the past from Estoril Praia and signed a player from Oriental, I figured maybe a 6'8" player would be well known!

Thanks for the replies... and to anyone else who can shed any light!
