Penafiel - Sport Lisboa e Benfica

Good move saving Karagounis for the Man U game next week. From www.ojogo.pt:

Karagounis "protegido"

Benfica: autocarro vandalizado à porta do hotel no Porto
Filipe Caetano

Ha-Ha!

Your bus stinks and won't win a championship while our bus went to the UEFA Cup final last year! Your bus sucks!

I haven't seen the line-up yet but this is the list of "convocados":

Quote:
Guarda-redes: Moreira e Quim;

Defesas: Nélson, João Pereira, Leo, Anderson, Luisão e Ricardo Rocha;

Médios: Petit, Manuel Fernandes, Beto, Carlitos, Geovanni e Nuno Assis;

Avançados: Miccoli, Simão, Nuno Gomes e Mantorras.

Too bad you don't understand Portuguese Jacob, there are plenty of articles about Koeman and his comments about changing the line-up, etc.

My bus has padded walls, metal bars, and fireproof seats.

Bwah! Right back at ya on the keyboard front!

In all seriousness though: I didn't know Futebol Clube de Gondemar could afford a bus?

Jacob -

All signs indicate that Rocha's staying on the bench even though he's back from suspension and Koeman will use the same starting 11 as he did at home last week vs. Leiria. As you noted..."ain't broke...."

Kickoff in two hours-

Forca Benfica!

PS - not looking ahead, but Gary Neville's getting his knee operated on tomorrow and is out for at least six weeks. More ManU woes on the injury front.

2-0- Benfica already in the 29th minute.

Someone said it, if it ain't broke, then don't fix it. We look like a brand new Cadillac now with this line-up.

How's my hair grabs another goal...He's rejuvenated.

0-2 at halftime.

Nuno Gomes & Simao

It's really nice to be winning 2-0 so early in the game.

Let's keep it up in the 2nd half.

Just came home and I'm watching the game.

Quick prediction: Beto is gonna get sent off. He commits these stupid small fouls all the time... high leg, tugging shirts etc. I can just see another yellow in his immediate future.

I haven't seen more than 30 seconds of Miccoli in this game, but just seeing how he runs, how strong he is... he's just plain good, that's what. I hope we keep him around. I think the substitution was to spare him for Tuesday. Joanna is giving Nuno a run for his shampoo once again.

Forca Benfica!

3-1 Benfica. 84th minute. Nuno Gomes scored a GREAT goal! Petit with a ball up the field - it bounces two times before Gomes gets there and on the half-volley he hammers it into the far side corner of the goal. Just beautiful. Just 15 minutes or so ago he missed a seemingly simple tap-in after having passed the GK. Penafiel scored on a header just five minutes prior to this after a quick counter-attack up the left wing and a very good cross for Ferreira who headed it home. Moreira was pissed. No need to make this a close game and thanks to Nuno we have some breathing room again. Five goals in two games. Pretty friggin' awesome.

Forca Benfica!
