Taca Portugal: Sport Lisboa e Benfica v. Vitoria Setubal

Oh yeah - there's a Portuguese Cup final to win on Sunday, too...

Trap has announced that he will make his final decision re: whether to stay on (I think/hope he's gone) or move on after this game. All players are available, and I've got to think (hope) that there will be no championship hangover. This is the Centennial year of the club, and history will reflect (more) favorably on this squad if they can pull off the double.

One change to the starting 11: Moreira between the pipes. From www.abola.pt:

Quote:

And if that weren't enough minutae for the game, there's a new game ball for the Taca Final and perhaps the Chupa next season (I imagine that Nike leveraged its outfitting deal with the FPF to land the ball ruling). From www.ojogo.pt:

As for TV - the game's on RTPi at 12:00 EST on Sunday.

Viva O Campeoes!

A noon time start should ensure my viewing. I will be heading to the 3rd ring of Dante's Inferno (Yankees Stadium) around 3 or 4. They'll be giving the players free hats and T-Shirts if they win. What more motivation do you need?

Trapp's press conference following the Boavista game featured him talking about his wife and family back in Italy. I believe that translates into "I need a huge payraise to stay at my age."

He did mention that he was overwhelmed by the support the last couple of months from the fans, and that he would like to coach the squad in the CL.

Damn! That's 9 in the morning my time. On a Sunday during a holiday weekend, that's a huge commitment.

Well, when's the last time Benfica won the "double?" I rest my case....

Gonna have to size up some negotiating points with the rest of Team Flo.
