What the hell is wrong with benfica?

This is a thread where we can all discuss what the hell is wrong with benfica, what we think should be done and talk about any players which would be useful in benfica's lineup.
I pity pissed that we didn't get maxi lopez. Not by the fact that we didn't get a talented young player but that its so annoying that benfica say their about to buy a player and then he goes off to other team. :bounce:

I also think trap is crap, however if he only played benfica a little more offensive we would win this season. traps has amazing knowledge but its too defensive. And if benfica players trained very hard on passing skills, quick and accuratly then we could keep possesion in matches. we also bloody need an offensive midfield who can be the leader of the team. simao's a great capitain but we need a proper benficista capitain like Rui Costa once was. I really hope nuno assis is this type of player. :sigh:

As lopez is not coming now heres my new line up:

N. Gomes Karadas (mantorras when fit)

Simao N. Assis Miguel (Giovanni)

M. Ferrnandes Petit

Alcides Andre Luis Luisao

Morreira

Dos santos is the best left back we have but what the hell, we could trade him for a player maybe even a number 10.

Benfica's problems summed up:

Injuries-Injuries to players like Miguel, Nuno, Petit, Luisao and Rocha have hurt the quality of the team. None more so than Miguel, who in my opinion is Benfica's most influential player.

Depth: -The fact that we let go of Fernando Aguiar, and picked up two Brazilian hacks who lack 1/10 of the battling spirit that Aguiar possessed. Aguiar's presence last was key especially when Petit went down. This year, our midfield has been run over at times because we lack the strength necessary. We lack a viable back up at Right back and at Center back...but that's because they were all hurt.

Coaching: -Trapp is clueless. He doesn't know what style to play, only that he wants to play not lose. WHy did he bench Moreira?

Management: Empty promises, hot air, no knowledge of the necessary ingredients to build a successful team.

Players: Outside of Petit, few of them have the heart necessary to compete.
