Ljubo mentioned something about starting a thread like this one where we can debate from a Croatian perspective, to get things going so, which European domestic league do you guys feel is the most underrated league? State your reasons why you believe a particular league is underrated.

Bundesliga. Lots of competition, unpredictable...and lots of Croats playing in that league too :)

bundesliga and maybe even the ukrainian league...they always have teams in the CL and some of their clubs (like shaktar) have been investing lots of money in recent years

French league. Entertaining, close, have some good players and their clubs are successful in Europe.. All this despite most French players playing outside of the country.

I find the french league very boring they play very defencive style of soccer and usually the games are 1 -0 .Bundeslige is the most underated league so much action alot of star players are in it .And its so balanced .I think the EPL is overrated tho bundeslige is much better :rock3:

Have you ever watched a full Bundesliga match? You reckon the French is boring...

Yes bundes all the way. The Epl is probably overrated but yet is still very entertaining. Maybe its got something to do with the coverage of games.Eg. how many camera angles they have. :blues:
For how many well known teams there are in the italian league, it in my books is the worst league on the planet. Now thats boring football. So defensive.... :bounce:

Id say Bundesliga because it is by far the best to watch in europe right now. It is too bad...we only get to see like one game a week. As for the EPL i just can't get into it. The french league is awesome. Super fast paced.

Bundesliga has the highest amount of goals scored per game than English, Italian and Spanish last season. Ive only seen a few Bundesliga matches in the past seasons but I find the matches entertaining.
Agree with all you guys about the EPL being overrated but certainly more action, you barely see teams going for a 0-0 draw, constant back and forth (look at the recent Spurs-Arsenal match)
fuck the Ukranian league along with Shitkar Dicksuck.
I agree with dinamovac11. While French league is not the best in Europe, and that's not what the question is, it is very underrated because you almost never hear any news from there until you watch Champion League. I watch the weekly highlights on their league matches and they are just as entertaining as the rest.
I'm sure Latvian league highlights are entertaining, I never got into the French league. But it is underrated, mostly because the rivalries aren't as defined as in other leagues, so networks dish out for EPL, BL or something else.
I agree its underrated though...

:rollani:
so how many serie a games do u see every season?
why is it that everyone associates entertainment with goals?
and most people dont realise that the serie a actually averages more goals per game than the EPL...so much for defensive football :rollani:

I was watching Arsenal - Tottenham a few weeks ago which finished 5-4. That was just rubbish football. Defensive mistakes, tactical stupidity and a kids scoreline. We were out at the time and one of my friends who doesn't really follow football even said if the score is that high then doesn't that mean the teams must be crap!:laugh2:
I would rather watch a 0-0 game anyday than that. EPL is unwatchable for me and I am not sure why people make a fuss about it. Serie A and Roma all the way.
I wish I could see the Argentinian league. Now that is an underrated league. The teams are broke, lose all their players every year yet play great football.

French League for sure as most underrated.

si si,
i must agree with dinamovac again.
ze french league eet eez!
good domestic players don't stay long, and in the past couple years they've managed to be entirely competitive according to the best measuring stick there is, the champions league.
AND, he gets more points for mentioning the argentinian leauge, which continues to produce talent, though in general, quality of play is not on par with that of an average european league. argentina is going through a "croatian" crisis right now as it's two traditional powers are not doing at all what has been expected of them.
fox sports world gives a game every sunday and they're quite entertaining, esp because of the ludicrous fans surrounding the pitch. the brazilian league, of course, keeps giving us brazilians, but the lack of tactics and coaching in the matches, IMO detracts from the quality of the game and their league.

How many games ? Not many i told you i dont like it why would i watch it........ :confused2 :stupid: I think you said this because you obviously watch it alot and like it. In the Best strikers thread, dinamovac said something about your Milan bias. Well i think thats kicking in now too.
And i will tell you why everyone associates entertainment with goals.....because they are entertaining, seventy percent of the time. But thats just me............. :drevil: :D :hmmm:

seeing as though u are from oz...the only way ud be able to catch games even if u wanted to was if u had RAI...im assuming that u dont have RAI
this has nothing to do with my milan bias...this has to do with me attacking the old "italian football is too defensive" myth
as dinamovac said...the EPL is more like funniest home videos than professional football

most definetly, by far the most underated league with many good teams.
but dont agree with you on EPL stand. EPL is by far the best league ever played, it is fast and entertaining, as football should be. Of course technically it cant be perfect when it is so fast but it is amazing to watch.
On the other side, I cant stand watching Juve, thats just horrible... what can be ever good in 1:0 game with 3 shots on the goal?

I would have liked to be the first to mention the Argentinian League but the big OH beat me to the punch.
Argentina all the way.
Gentlemen all leagues have their strengths and weaknesses. Football is universal. Ya gotta love 'em all.

Myth or fact?
No wolf, I like seeing three shots in just one game, its rivetting. Best in the world :winkg: :winkg: :rotfl:

One reason why the EPL is so popular is because they are so organized the staduims are nice they have dozens of camera angles good comentating and usualy good refs but unlike the leagues in south America they need cages and hundreds of police men to gaurd the players from crazy die hard fans and the leagues there are so un organized and the refs are awful :jester: :jester:

Bundesliga by far. Also the Ukranian leagues and Russian leagues are underrated even though there are great quality players playing there and some of the clubs are CL caliber.

EPL is good to watch only when the bigger teams play one another and they constantly attack. Even then its not great soccer but it is entertaining. On the other hand watching Bolton vs Charlton is :puke:

I fell in love with that player back in 94. He is simply one of the most talented mids I've ever seen. A great player and the people in Bolton are getting every Schilling worth. A type of player I hope Niko turns into.
Cheers and Merry Christmass!!!

Oh you're right, but I meant the type of impact player Okocha is. I think Kranjcar has the ability to be a damn fine player.

speaking of jay jay and bolton...i wouldnt mind seeing niko moving to the club
jay jay wont be there for long and once he is gone they will need a player like him...kranjcar is more than capable of filling his boots (assuming he can be bothered :tired: )
the crowd would love him if he showed that he could fill the gap left by okocha
it would be a decent move for him because he would get game time, the coach is capable of containing his ego and he wont be expected to do a lot of defending and running

Isn't Nwankwo Kanu also somewhere in the Premiership? I remember when he played for Arsenal he had some really good performances. As for Kranjcar he can't keep expecting not to run, running is a top notch requirement for playing any kind of soccer esspecially at the top level
dinamovac11
12-05-2004, 08:58 PM
joj...Niko can't even play at dinamo let alone move to a fast paced league like England. Hrvoje Strok has more chance of moving before Kranjcar.
As for Bolton. Prso should have moved there when he had the chance.
