Thank you all for your keen interest in my thong. It has not been stolen. I merely let Borat borrow it for sensationalistic purposes.

Disclaimer: As much as I look like him, I am not Borat.

Let the firings begin..>Baker won't be coming back to the Cubs..now Alou...the Marlins apparantly are going to dump Joe Gerardi who just might end up as the new Cubs manager.

I'm stunned that no team has bribed Botchey away from the Padres. He's one of the few managers in baseball who I don't view as a total boob.

Being down here in Padre's country it's hard being a fan of their given my roots but I have to say they're the grittiest team in the playoffs save for maybe Detroit. Botchey is adored down here like no other. They love him and I know who digs being minutes away from the beach. :cool1:

Girardi with the Cubs would be a great move for club and manager. Maybe he'll lure his old battery mate (Maddux) back?!

Catchers always make good managers...

When will they make Ryno batting coach?

Joe Girardi did a great job with a depleted Marlins team but, apparantly he and the own clashed so he will be shown the door. He'd be a natural with the Cubbies...I have a feeling that either he or Willie Randolph will be the Yankees manager when Torre desides to hang them up.

To round out the beisbore talk, I missed Joe Castiglione's reading of "The Green Field's of The Mind" by A Bartlett Giamatti. He continues the tradition begun by Ken Coleman to read it at the close of the final Red Sox radio broadcast.

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped, and summer was gone."

Cubs are wierd. They should have some young talent coming up due to their high draft positions the last 3 years. But Baker did a good job of burning out their two aces. So you could end up managing their in between period.

Just a reminder: Pedro is a former Dodger.

Now that's been cleared up, I propose we all get behind the Blue Crew... including Flo.

I am very aware that the Tommy Lasorda had Pedro traded away due to his diminutive stature.

Sorry. I've kinda had a soft spot for the Mets since 1986 when their tales of coccaine, boozing, womanizing, and still winning the world series came to fruition. Doc Gooden was my idol when I was playing little league. :yeldance:

That and I'd pull for anyone over the Dodgers.
