Figo, Ronaldo, Q, Simao, Conceicao, Capucho, can all play with both feet but all prefer to be on the right side.
Who was our last "above-average" pure left-sided player? I know Nuno Valente is one right now. If my memory serves me correctly, Folha was the last one to be a pure left-sided attacker for the seleccao.

I have no clue! Pedro Barbosa? I dunno.

It depends - do you consider Boa Morte above average? If not, then I would agree with you that it was Folha.
Barbosa falls into the same category as the other players Marco mentioned.

Allow me to rephrase, the last pure left-footed player to start on the team. Folha had a run in the mid-90's, but since then we've been using ambidextrous players on the wings (don't know if that word could apply to feet though)

Then the answer is either Nuno Valente or Rui Jorge. We've become worse than the English at producing quality left wingers. Both Porfirio and Dani were huge flops.
There are 2 left wingers in the Spanish 1st Division that I would like to see be given a chance with the NT - Duda (Sevilla) and Fabio Felicio (Real Sociedad).

When it comes to "flop", isn't that a relative term with Dani.
OK, yeah, he never lived up to his potential. But that kid could go to his grave with Wilmer Valderamma level of ass on his mantle.
So on one hand, you could be like Figo and claim "I helped Portugal defeat Holland in the World Cup".
Or you could be like Dani and state "I harpooned half the ladies in Holland during the World Cup".
In this debate, is there a loser?

I submit that the answer is "no". In the end, neither Figo nor Dani won the World Cup, yet the ladies flowed through Dani's flat like the Amstel.
