New FIFA anti-racism rulings that took effect in March suggest Italy’s victory on Sunday could be reversed by disqualification

A ridiculous proposition. The whole article is nothing but idle speculation, but it gave me laugh. Well, a smirk.

Those crazy Canucks, eh?

I can't say I've seen this reported anywhere else. It's really just idle speculation - presumably the writer had a bit of time on his hands and nothing else to write about. It's creative, I'll give him that, but it isn't going to happen.

Still, I might forward it to Sepp Blatter, on the off chance. You never know - they could expel Italy for racism, Portugal for diving, France for personal hygiene issues and the Germans for aloofness and the lack of a servicable sense of humour, thus leaving England as the new world champions.

Rules are only useful if they applied consistently, there are plenty of players being subjected to worse (than what Materazzi supposedly said) on the pitch each week.
A few good examples are racist chants against Eto'o (Barcelona) and Zoro (Messina)

Materazzi did not say anything racist. The racism nonsense was invented by various idiots in France, and even repeated on TV by some of the pansy's relatives.
Even Zidane confirmed that Materazzi did not say anything racist.
