25 yr. old Striker. Belongs to Bordeaux, but has been on loan to Santos.

Didn't do well in his year at Bordeaux, but has been one of the leading scorers in the Brazilian championship, while partnering Robinho.

Bordeaux is saying the deal is for 3million EUR. I am a bit concerned about the price tag. I would preferred to have spent the majority of the Enak money on a defender. However, I like this move a lot. He will be an upgrade to what we have. One of things we lacked last season was another striker who could consistently knock in goals. Even though we led the league in scoring, we only won 2 league games last year when Liedson didn't score. This also gives us a bit of insurance in case another team comes in making a ridiculous bid for Liedson.

If Deivid is signed, we'll have too many options in attack. Silva seems like the most logical person to leave and he still has "mercado" in Portugal. Possibly a Wender for Silva trade with Braga?

We desperately need another central defender. I have no idea who we're going to get, but we need one.

Strange Fact of the Day - Deivid was named after the TV character David Banner. Apparently, his mother was a huge Incredible Hulk fan. :rotfl:

He's good. I've watched him play for Santos a number of times. He took over for Olivera when he left for Spain. He's not a superstar but does everything well enough.

As for the Hulk.......Lesser known fact;

In the comic, David Banner is actually Bruce Banner. His name was changed for television because Bruce was deemed to be a bit, shall we say, limp-wristed a name. So they changed it the more manly David.
