Liverpool have made a £4.5m bid for Real Sociedad's tenacious midfielder Mikel Arteta. Arteta , 24 , spent half the season on loan at merseyside rivals Everton, who were looking to make the deal permanent but the deal collapsed due to a failure to agree personal terms. The player himself is delighted at the prospect of being able to make the switch, but with Real Sociedad reportedly wanting £6m for the highly rated Spaniard, Liverpool will have to make an improved offer to secure his signature.[/B]
