Croatian Football Federation
Date of foundation: 13 June 1912
The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) was founded in 1912, and despite being incorporated into the Yugoslav Football Association (JNS) in 1918, it organised a first international match in Zagreb on 2 April 1940, with Croatia defeating Switzerland 4-0. With the collapse of Yugoslavia after the outbreak of the Second World War, the HNS was admitted as a full member of FIFA on 16 July 1941 to function within the Independent State of Croatia, and this membership continues to the present day. After the founding of the Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia in 1945 the HNS continued to operate while NK Dinamo Zagreb pulled off a notable Croatian success in winning the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1966/67. The HNS renewed its membership of FIFA in July 1992 after the break-up of Yugoslavia before joining UEFA on 16 June 1993. Croatia's national team made their presence felt by reaching the quarter-finals of EURO '96™, and went one better at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, finishing third. Croatia also qualified for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2004™ finals, while at club level NK Croatia Zagreb (now re-named NK Dinamo Zagreb) have been involved in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
This is from UEFA.com, and I have to say it was a surprise even to me. :bday:
