Did you know we had one?? I read here in a cro paper that we have one and it has come one step closer to gaining a spot in the world cup. Spain and us went through to the next stage of WC qualification. Spain finished above us, we had the same W,L,D record they scored more goals.
I wanna see the jerseys they have. I cant find any pictures though..

Cevap,
Here's a website I found, its Croatia 7's team and the uniforms are similar to the full Rugby teams. They actually look pretty nice:
http://croatia7s.com/
The attachments I'm going to show have the full NT pic..one game against Spain (they wear blue uniforms in this one) the other against Andora where they wear the red shirts. Both look pretty nice if you ask me...

Correct me if Im wrong here but wasnt the MVP in England a couple of years ago a Croat?
Also arent a majority of the Cro rugby players from N. Zeland?

That is one sport that is truly amazing.
I remember this one t-shirt that was going around here a while ago, it was a nice swipe at us football players.
'Real men don't wear equipment, real men don't need equipment'
Nice.

Well every body likes to poke fun at NFL players lol, even the CFL had a campaign where the adds read......Our Balls are Bigger.....
But seriously.....I dont think wearing a head guard and shins is the same thing as wearing a helmet and shoulder pads.
The head guard is mainly to protect the ears from being ripped off your head lol.

YES! NFL players are girls compared to our AFL(aussie rules football) and NRL(rugby) players. Full contact but no protection, thats called BALLS! And AFL shits on NFL. NFL is probably the worst spectator sport ever :yawning: . Whereas AFL is non stop bone crunching action. Well there more to it then that but yeah....
I`ll be honest, I hope Rugby doesn`t grow in Croatia because the most important sport has to be football. Croatia simply isn`t big enough to be fantastic at another sport

It'll never happen. After all, there are so many other sports ahead of Rugby..drinking, sleeping, smoking, and so many more. :zany:

rugby and NFL football are two very different sports. players would die in the nfl if they were to wear no equipment. when was the last time u saw an unprotected receiver running full speed and jumping to catch a ball and a 210lb safety running full speed at him looking to clean his clock in rugby? didn't think so. big hits in the nfl are FAR more devastating then ones in rugby.
(i didn't even notice this thread earlier, sorry about the late reply)

Kezele, OK maybe rugby was a bad example, but you obviously have not seen a game of AFL, aussie rules footy(its nothing like rugby), that is a mans game, they cop hits all the time like you mentioned the only difference is the game doesnt stop after every play and no protection.
About two weeks ago St. Kilda V Richmond, two players collided and one ended up with a hair line fracture in the skull and the other was back the next week. This stuff is a pretty regular occurance. Sorry but AFL is ten times tougher then NFL. Watch a game and you will agree. Aussie hrvati please tell him...

i'm not saying that afl isn't tougher, i can agree on that. but nfl players arn't "little girls" by no means. u want an injury? a few weeks ago a player DIED in the AFL (arena football league) with a spinal cord injury. another good example. in 2002, an offensive guard........big 310 lb mofo, goes by the name of Kerry Jenkins, played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ANYWAY, he played the majority of the season with a broken orbital (yes, thats your eye socket) AND a broken fibula. Thats pretty tough.
i do watch the occasional rugby game....i always seem to catch the Wallabies playing, and again, i can agree that those guys are tougher....but not by much, don't make me start posting some animated pics of some wicked hits to shut u up

Alright, i over exagerrated to get my point across. Lets face it if i saw one of those NFL players in the street i wouldnt be calling him a girl. I was just trying to say AFL and yeah probably rugby too is tougher then NFL. You say they are, but not by much. Sorry cant agree there with our AFL. AFL is tough hardcore shit much tougher then NFL. Body on the line kinda stuff. With no protection. And no stopping. Rugby is probably not as tough but some of the tackles are full-on, also no protection.
Pictures or not i think AFL is tougher by a mile over NFL.

I knew we had one, but through the funniest way. I watching some sports show called "You Gotta See This" Where they show all kinds of crazy things from the world of sport. In one part they showed the Cro NT having a brawl with the Bosnian NT before the game started :rotfl2:

Sorry to bring this up again..But this weekend a guy who plays for Richmond (Nathan Brown Half forward) had his fibula and tibula snapped. He was about to kick the ball when a player got pushed onto the front of his leg and he landed on it and snapped it back the other way. When he lifted his leg, his leg was dangling. It was fucked up BAD. They replayed the bloody thing about twelve times.
I just thought id tell you guys about it.

Rugby is a much more demanding game physically because you actually have to be in shape to play it. Most of those offensive and defensive linemen in the NFL can't run 50 yards without requiring oxygen afterwards. In rugby even the biggest players (props, 2nd row, etc.) are expected to run and support. I've visited the Croatian Rugby Academy and am hoping the sport catches on. We could put together a good 7's team but I don't know about a full Union side.
As for Aussie Rules, I used to watch it religiously when ESPN used to carry it back in the 80's. Great game. Have you ever tried your hands at Gaelic Football or hurling? Two more dangerous games that require amazing skill.
Sorry for the late reply, but I just joined this forum a few days ago. :newbie:
